Although we are NOT on a real train, all the plays have a train setting, within a background of Kansas City history. Performances are held in some of your favorite area restaurants. The Mystery Train players will also perform for private parties and special engagements. Ask about group rates.

About The Mystery Train. . .

The Mystery Train launched in 2005, offering murder mystery dinner theater to audiences in Kansas City.  Currently working on their 53rd production, it has been voted one of the Best Performing Arts Groups in Kansas City for two years running.  Utilizing the rich history of the railroads in building this wonderful city, The Mystery Train has found a niche that appeals to history buffs, mystery lovers, amateur actors, visitors and game players.  The shows produced by The Mystery Train are interactive, presented as a live game show, allowing everyone to play detective and some to even be a suspect!  Since the company partners with area restaurants and banquet venues, the shows are dinner theatre in the style of the old dining cars of the railroad. The result is a stimulating experience that is deceptively fun!
Wendy Thompson is the creator and producer of The Mystery Train. Also penning many of the murder-mystery plays, her shows do not merely break the fourth wall, but invite the audience to step into the scene and be a part of the play.  Wendy has been performing since she was very young and has been a professional actor in the Kansas City area for the past 24 years.  Her credits include many films, commercials, television appearances, stage performances, interactive theater, directing and producing.  She has written plays, puzzles, educational and camp programs.
